Southern diet could raise your risk of heart attack

Eating a Southern-style diet is associated with an increased risk of heart disease, according to research published in Circulation, an American Heart Association journal.

Study Highlights: Regularly eating a typical Southern-style diet may significantly raise your risk of heart attack or heart-related death; Researchers characterized Southern-style cuisine as fried foods, fatty foods, egg dishes, processed meats, organ meats, and sweet drinks.
