Academy Award winner Marisa Tomei to host, Tony Winner Lea Salonga and R&B Pop Supergroup En Vogue to perform
WHO: This year’s show will be hosted by Marisa Tomei (My Cousin Vinny/The Handmaid’s Tale). The following 17 celebrities will also walk in the show: Adrienne Houghton (The Real), CeCe Winans (Grammy award-winning gospel singer), Elisabeth Röhm (Law and Order), Ginger Zee (Chief Meteorologist, ABC News), Grace Helbig (television and YouTube personality), Kate Walsh (Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice), Kathy Ireland (model and actress), Lea Salonga (Broadway actress and voice of two Disney princesses), Liz Hernandez (Access Hollywood and E! News), Lynn Whitfield (Greenleaf), Marion Ross (Happy Days), Maye Musk (model, dietitian, and latest CoverGirl), Melissa Joan Hart (Sabrina the Teenage Witch), Niki Taylor (supermodel), Rachel Lindsay (The Bachelorette), Tatyana Ali (Fresh Prince of Bel-Air) and Zuri Hall (E! News).
Lea Salonga will kick off the show with a musical performance, En Vogue is slated to wrap up the show with a musical number and Harley Viera-Newton (DJ, model and fashion influencer) will DJ the show.
WHAT: The American Heart Association’s (AHA) Go Red For Women™ Red Dress Collection, presented by Macy’s, will return to the Hammerstein Ballroom on Thursday, February 8, 2018. The Red Dress Collection, is an exclusive event where celebrities and top designers show their commitment to women’s heart health during New York Fashion Week and American Heart Month. Founded by the now federal convening partner The National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute’s The Heart Truth®, the event reminds women of the need to protect their heart health and take action in the fight against heart disease and stroke in women.
Walking in this year’s Red Dress Collection show are two heart disease survivors – Macy’s employee Karen A. Hill from Washington D.C., who is living with cardiomyopathy, as well as an AHA national spokeswoman and Go Red For Women “Real Women” Lilly Rocha from Pasadena, CA, who survived a heart attack at the age of 37.
The show will feature three looks from designers in the not-for-profit, independently-run Fashion Incubator Programs housed at Macy’s: Tanesha Prunty from the Chicago Fashion Incubator, Lia Larrea from Fashion Incubator San Francisco and Dur Doux from the D.C. Fashion Incubator. Wearing these designs will be Tatyana Ali in Tanesha Prunty, Ginger Zee in Lia Larrea and Elisabeth Röhm in Dur Doux.
Makeup will be provided by Shar Sinclair, hair styling will be provided by Giovanni Giuntoli with Tearsheet artistic team using Redken, jewelry will be provided by CAROLEE and nails will be provided by maniorpedi.com.
WHEN: The show will take place on Thursday, February 8 at 8:00 p.m. EST, accompanied by a Facebook Live event on Go Red For Women’s Facebook page. Media check-in begins at 6:00 p.m. EST (unless otherwise scheduled with AHA/Edelman), and the red carpet will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. EST.
