Dr. Lloyd-Jones on COVID pandemic impact study
New research confirms that deaths from heart disease and stroke increased substantially during the first year of the COVID pandemic. American Heart Association President (2021-2022) Donald M. Lloyd-Jones, M.D., Sc.M., FAHA, an author on the paper published in JAMA Network Open, says that disturbing trend will likely continue for years to come. Dr. Lloyd-Jones is chair of the department of preventive medicine, the Eileen M. Foell Professor of Heart Research and professor of preventive medicine, medicine and pediatrics at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago.
