ATLANTA, January 19, 2023 — The 2023 Heart of Atlanta Gala will be held Saturday, February 18 at the St. Regis Atlanta. The annual gala is a culmination of the year-round American Heart Association of metro Atlanta’s efforts to address high blood pressure, CPR education, nutrition security, tobacco and the youth vaping crisis.

The gala marks a moment in time to reflect, honor and celebrate the progress made through the determination, dedication and passion of all who support the Heart of Atlanta. The campaign is relentlessly focused on engaging community leaders in making a significant impact in health equity and the mission of the American Heart Association.

“The American Heart Association has made a lot of progress in the fight against heart disease and stroke, yet so many individuals in our community face barriers to health care access and quality each day,” said DeRetta Rhodes, 2023 Heart of Atlanta chairwoman and EVP and chief culture officer of the Atlanta Braves. “By addressing health inequities, funding life-saving research and providing critical education and resources, the American Heart Association is supporting our neighbors with critical needs throughout the metro Atlanta area.”

The 2023 Heart of Atlanta Gala is locally sponsored by Accuhealth Technologies, Arch Insurance, The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, Atlanta Braves Foundation, BlackRock, Deluxe, DragonCon, Genuine Parts Company, Greenberg Traurig, Kaiser Permanente, LocumTenens.com, Robert Half, Southern Company, Truist, and Wellstar Health System. Attendees will enjoy an evening of dining, dancing to Gritz and Jelly Butter, and a robust auction.

This year’s special honoree, Arthur M. Blank, will receive the Heart of Atlanta Award recognizing his dedication as a community leader who has helped transform the health and well-being of residents in the metro Atlanta area.

“The American Heart Association is grateful for our dedicated and generous donors, volunteers, and supporters who stand with us as we work to keep our mission of being a relentless force for longer, healthier lives at the forefront of all that we do. Because of their support, we are working diligently across metro Atlanta to provide solutions that drive equitable health and transform lives for the better,” said Carla Smith, region senior vice president and executive director for the Metro Atlanta American Heart Association.

The Heart of Atlanta campaign supports the Association’s 2024 Health Equity Impact Goal, which aims to reduce barriers to health care access and quality. The American Heart Association is the world’s leading nonprofit organization focused on heart and brain health for all.
