ATLANTA, Jan. 24, 2024 — The American Heart Association, the world’s leading nonprofit organization focused on heart and brain health for all, will host their annual Atlanta Heart Ball at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24 at the St. Regis Atlanta. The event is a year-long effort aimed at investing in heart and brain health and saving and improving lives in the metro Atlanta area through scientific research, education, advocacy and better health policies.

“For the last 100 years, the American Heart Association has continued to focus on improving the total health and well-being of our community, working diligently to remove health barriers across metro Atlanta,” says Jim Hannan, president and COO of Koch Industries, Inc. and 2024 Atlanta Heart Ball chairman. “Through advances in research, reducing health risks, advocacy, and addressing community need, the Association is positioned to transform the overall health of Atlantans as we forge ahead into the next century.”

The dollars raised through the Atlanta Heart Ball fund the mission of the American Heart Association to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives, while supporting priority critical issues identified by the Metro Atlanta American Heart Association Board of Directors that will propel work to support the Association’s 2024 Impact Goal, reducing barriers to healthcare access and quality.

“The American Heart Association is working alongside our volunteers, donors and community collaborators to drive change and address healthy solutions for everyone in metro Atlanta,” says Carla Smith, region senior vice president and executive director for the Metro Atlanta American Heart Association. “By applying our science and working collaboratively to address inequities in health and cardiovascular disease through policy, systems and environmental changes, we can impact our community for future generations to come.”

The event, hosted by WJZA Smooth Jazz’s Art Terrell, includes a cocktail hour, formal dinner and program followed by a live auction, Open Your Heart donation appeal, and live entertainment. This year’s honoree, Paul Donahue, chairman and CEO of Genuine Parts Company, will receive the Heart of Atlanta Award recognizing his dedication as a community leader who has helped transform the health and well-being of residents in the metro Atlanta area.

The 2024 Heart of Heart of Atlanta Heart Ball is sponsored locally by Alston + Bird, Arch Insurance, Atlanta Hawks, CareSource, Delta Air Lines, DragonCon, Emory Healthcare, Ernst & Young, Genuine Parts Company, Global Payments, Holder Construction, Interface, Invesco, LocumTenens.com, Koch Industries Inc., Protiviti, Raymond James, Regions Bank, Southern Company and Wellstar Health System.
