A milestone moment for Côtes du Coeur
DALLAS, May 12, 2026 — Celebrating its 35th anniversary, Côtes du Coeur, the American Heart Association’s signature fine wine auction and celebrity chef gala in Dallas, once again demonstrated the extraordinary impact that occurs when philanthropy, innovation and community leadership come together. The milestone event welcomed 800 guests and raised $1.1 million during the evening, contributing to a total of $3.4 million raised so far in the yearlong campaign in support of the Association’s lifesaving mission.
Over the past 35 years, Côtes du Coeur has generated more than $60 million for the American Heart Association, advancing cardiovascular research, education, advocacy and community driven health initiatives across North Texas and beyond. Each year, the event highlights different aspects of heart health innovation, while continuing to support the Association’s broad mission to be a relentless force for longer, healthier lives.
This year’s program placed a spotlight on heart transplant and pediatric heart transplant care, offering guests insight into evolving research, data collaboration and medical innovations. Personal stories and mission moments throughout the evening illustrate how continued progress in these areas is expanding what is possible for patients and families.
One of the most powerful moments of the evening was a heartfelt video featuring the remarkable journey of Parker Helmerich, who endured 347 days in the hospital, open‑heart surgery, a stroke and a heart transplant, all before his second birthday.
Long recognized as one of Texas’ most sought-after philanthropic galas, Côtes du Coeur has grown into the largest fine wine auction in the Southwest, drawing vinophiles and community leaders from across the region. Hosted at the Omni Dallas Hotel, the evening reflected this year’s “Enriching Communities” theme and was led by WFAA co‑anchors Dia Wall and Matt Howerton, who served as emcees throughout the program.
Another highlight of the gala was the presentation of the Tête du Cuvée Award to Palmaz Vineyards, honoring an extraordinary legacy of innovation spanning both medicine and winemaking. Dr. Julio Palmaz, widely recognized for his role in the development of the coronary stent, transformed modern cardiovascular care, and helped save millions of lives worldwide. His son, Christian Palmaz, accepted the award on behalf of the family, underscoring the vineyard’s longstanding support of the American Heart Association’s mission.
The evening’s celebrated culinary experience once again brought together some of North Texas’ most notable chefs, led by Lead Executive Chef Richard Chamberlain, who has supported Côtes du Coeur for nearly three decades. His enduring support is driven by his personal connection to the mission, having lost his father to heart disease. His dedication to advancing heart health for future generations is apparent as he shares his commitment to living a long, healthy life alongside his family, including his two young grandchildren. He was joined by an exceptional lineup of culinary partners, including Kent Rathbun, Gerard Thompson, Dan Landsberg, Janice Provost, Jason Rohan, John Tesar and Miguel Antonio, all donating their time and talent in support of the cause.
Leadership was a defining theme of the evening as Jennifer and Chris Clark were recognized as Côtes du Coeur Chairs for successfully guiding the event through its 35th milestone year. The evening also celebrated the dedication of the Côtes du Coeur Executive Leadership Team and Wine Advisory Committee, whose year‑round commitment plays a critical role in the event’s continued success.
Together, the moments shared at Côtes du Coeur reflected the enduring power of leadership, generosity and shared purpose, reaffirming that when hearts open, lives are changed. As the night came to a close, guests were invited to look ahead to the 2027 Côtes du Coeur, as planning is already underway and sponsors have begun committing to support the next campaign.
