American Heart Association – Northeast Ohio welcomes three new board members
(NORTHEAST OHIO) July 14, 2026 — The American Heart Association–Northeast Ohio has announced the addition of three new members to its board of directors in its mission to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives.
The new board members include:
- Dr. Brianna French, cardiologist at Summa Health

“These volunteers have deep roots in our community and are passionate about heart health, making them a powerful advocate for our mission,” said Shelley Webber, executive director of the American Heart Association–Northeast Ohio. “All of these changemakers have also volunteered for us in the past, and we are thrilled to now welcome them as board members.”
As a cardiologist at Summa Health, Dr. French specializes in preventive cardiology, nutrition and heart disease in women. Dr. Mayuga practices as a general and interventional cardiologist at University Hospitals Portage, treating adults with any cardiac complaint and working to prevent future cardiovascular events from happening. Dr. Mayuga has previously lent her expertise as a media spokesperson for the American Heart Association to educate people in Northeast Ohio about holiday heart syndrome.
Marhofer serves as community outreach director at Ron Marhofer Auto Family, where she builds deep relationships with people and businesses in the greater Akron region. As volunteer chairwoman of the Association’s 2026 Akron/Canton Go Red for Women movement, Marhofer helped lead the campaign to its best year ever for Open Your Heart giving.
