Philadelphia, September 13, 2022 —The American Heart Association, the world’s leading nonprofit organization focused on ensuring longer, healthier lives for all, has named Bart Kaericher, President, and CEO of Aramark Healthcare+ as its Heart Walk Honoree for the 2022 Philadelphia Heart Walk.

“Healthcare has been an amazing place to build my career. Its dynamic pace, amazingly caring people and the creation of healing environments has always been special to me,” said Kaericher. “The Philadelphia Heart Walk is a signature event of the American Heart Association, and I am excited to represent Aramark in our hometown and look forward to raising awareness, educating the community, and inspiring people to make the small changes that can make a significant difference in living longer healthier lives.”

Kaericher joined Aramark in 2021 to lead Aramark’s healthcare division, which provides food and facilities services at more than 600 healthcare facilities across the country. He has held multiple leadership roles with large healthcare organizations such as Compass Group, B. Braun Medical and NAD. Kaericher holds an MBA in Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Marketing from Saint Joseph University.

Aramark and the American Heart Association have worked together, since 2015, on an innovative health impact initiative that empowers people from across the country to lead healthier lives. The Healthy for Life initiative includes community level nutrition education, menu innovation, consumer engagement and employee health and wellness education.

The American Heart Association’s Heart Challenge® is a suite of activities and initiatives designed to help companies positively impact employees' overall health and well-being. The program is anchored in a series of customizable workplace events that inspire employees to be more engaged, reconnect with colleagues, pursue physical activity, support a great cause, and have a lot of fun doing it. October 7th we will kicks off a 30 day “Move More” campaign ending with a week of wellness starting Oct 30th.

The Philadelphia Heart Challenge culminates with the 2022 Fall Heart Walk, now in its 24th year. The Heart Walk will be held on November 5th at Citizens Bank Park. The Heart Walk unites the community in celebrating health and honoring survivors. Kaericher will be joined by other like-minded city executives working to increase physical and mental health, combat burnout, and promote community engagement.

“When selecting this year’s Heart Walk honoree, the choice was obvious. Bart is an exemplary leader in health and wellness in our community. He practices what he preaches and leads the way to a healthy lifestyle,” said Nicole Aiello Sapio, Executive Vice President of, the American Heart Association for the Eastern region.

The funds raised at the Heart Walk fund the mission of the American Heart Association to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives while supporting priority issues in Philadelphia, such as food insecurity.
