CINCINNATI, December 1, 2022- The American Heart Association, the world’s leading nonprofit organization focused on heart and brain health for all, has named Beverly A. Grant, longstanding supporter of the Association and passionate champion for health equity, as chair of the Heart of Greater Cincinnati campaign. In this role, Grant is focused on driving equitable health for every member of our community, with a special focus on women’s health, and raising critical funds to support the lifesaving work of the organization.

“The work that the American Heart Association is doing to identify and remove barriers to health care access and quality is extremely important to me,” said Grant. “Having grown up without health care, I know firsthand how critical it is to be a champion for health equity for all.”

Grant will lead a year-long campaign, culminating in the 30th annual Greater Cincinnati Heart Ball, to be held on Saturday, February 4 at the Hyatt Regency Cincinnati. The Greater Cincinnati Heart Ball unites the community in celebrating progress toward equitable health and honoring survivors of heart disease and stroke. Grant has been actively involved with the Greater Cincinnati American Heart Association for many years and shared her personal journey with heart disease at the 2022 Heart Ball. She is a

Cor Vitae Society member and longstanding supporter of the Association.

“We are honored to have Beverly serve as Heart Ball chair,” said Alyson Poling, Executive Director of the Greater Cincinnati American Heart Association. “Beverly brings her passion, commitment and expertise to this year’s campaign and we are incredibly grateful for her support.”

The dollars raised by the Heart of Greater Cincinnati campaign fund the mission of the American Heart Association to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives while supporting priority issues in Greater Cincinnati. Health equity has been identified by the American Heart Association Greater Cincinnati board as a priority for 2022/2023 to propel work to support the Association’s 2024 Health Equity Impact Goal, reducing barriers to health care access and quality. This year’s presenting sponsor of Greater Cincinnati Heart Ball is St. Elizabeth Healthcare.
