AUSTIN, February 5, 2024— As plans are underway for the 2024 Austin Heart Ball, Eric Gribble of DPR Construction has been named chairperson of this year’s community-wide campaign. The Heart Ball celebrates progress made through the dedication and passion of all who support the American Heart Association’s Heart of Austin, a year-round effort aimed at investing in, saving and improving lives throughout Central Texas.

“Eric exemplifies true leadership and commitment as a market leader here in Austin and is the ideal person to head our Heart Ball campaign,” said Ty Fleeman, development director. “As a trusted member of this community and a personal connection to the mission, understands the impact the American Heart Association can have on every person who lives in this area. We welcome Eric to the Heart of Austin, an initiative that centers around better health for every individual by focusing on critical issues and work to equitably improve and save lives.”

“I’m excited for the opportunity to chair the Heart Ball for the American Heart Association on its 100th birthday,” said Gribble. “I am eager to work together with our outstanding team of volunteers and the American Heart Association as we all advocate to make a difference in the well-being of people in this community. A loved one is still with us today because of the lifesaving CPR and AED education that the Association provides. Together, we must continue to strive to do whatever we can to make a lasting impact on ensuring equitable access to this lifesaving skill.”

The 2024 Austin Heart Ball is presented by St. David’s HealthCare and sponsored by Texas Mutual and Centre for Neuro Skills. The gala is slated for May 4 at the JW Marriott Austin. The annual event is a night to celebrate the association’s year-round efforts to drive health equity throughout Central Texas. This year’s campaign is specifically focused on tackling nutrition security to ensure more neighbors have the chance to live a full and healthy life.

Throughout the evening the American Heart Association, the world’s leading nonprofit organization focused on heart and brain health, will honor volunteers and patrons, feature stories of survivors, and entertain guests with dinner, dancing and an exciting auction.
