BOSTON – The American Heart Association is pleased to announce that Laura Hamilton, executive vice president, business development and industry relations at HealthBeacon, will serve as the chairperson of the 2023 Go Red for Women campaign in Boston.
In her role, Hamilton will be leading the American Heart Association’s local efforts to increase women’s heart health awareness and serve as a catalyst for change to improve the lives of women everywhere.
In addition to chairing Go Red for Women, Hamilton is a member of the American Heart Association’s local Board of Directors. She is passionate about the Association’s efforts to fight cardiovascular disease, which is the No. 1 killer of women in the United States.
“I see remarkable stories of adversity and recovery every day,” said Hamilton. “Seeing firsthand how the work of the American Heart Association affects the lives of everyday Americans is what inspired me to chair Go Red for Women, and I know we can take our message of self-care and prevention to more women than ever this year.”
Joining Hamilton in leading this year’s Go Red for Women campaign is a team of accomplished women from Greater Boston, comprised of Elizabeth Boudreau, international head of strategy and healthcare workforce development at Amazon Web Services; Kerri Cullity, partner at IBM Consulting; Nithya Desikan, operating principal at Gurnet Point Capital; Traci Hong, associate professor of media science at Boston University; and Sara Jansen, managing director at Press Ganey.
“We are thrilled to have Laura’s and the entire leadership team’s experience, conviction and passion to drive Go Red in the communities we serve,” said Karen A. Whitefield, the American Heart Association’s executive director in Boston. “Together, we know that we will have a positive impact on the lives of women in our region and the families that depend on them.”
This year’s Go Red for Women movement and its local achievements will be celebrated on Thursday, April 20, at an evening reception to be held at the State Room in downtown Boston. For more information, visit BostonGoRed.heart.org.
Go Red for Women is nationally sponsored by CVS Health.

About Go Red for Women®
The American Heart Association’s signature initiative, Go Red for Women®, is a comprehensive platform designed to increase women’s heart health awareness and serve as a catalyst for change to improve the lives of women globally. While the majority of cardiac events can be prevented, cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in women, claiming the lives of 1 in 3 women. For 19 years, Go Red for Women has encouraged awareness. The movement harnesses the energy, passion and power of women to band together and collectively wipe out heart disease. It challenges them to know their risk for heart disease and take action to reduce their personal risk. It also gives them tools they need to lead a heart healthy life. The Go Red for Women movement is nationally sponsored by CVS Health, with additional support from national cause supporters.
