Healthcare Management Executive powers innovation in year-round campaign to transform health in Cleveland

CLEVELAND, OH, May 28, 2026 — Through the American Heart Association’s Heart of Cleveland campaign, Tom Ferkovic, volunteer chair and chair emeritus of Medic Management, is leading community-wide efforts to help ensure every individual in Greater Cleveland has the opportunity for a full, healthy life. Heart of Cleveland engages companies, community leaders and individuals to make a lasting impact and help fund innovative solutions to save more lives.

The campaign will come together at the Greater Cleveland Heart and Stroke Ball in June 2026, celebrating the power of innovation. The American Heart Association has grown into the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke. Its size and scope allow the organization to not only make an impact today, but to stay ahead of the curve and find medical breakthroughs that will save future generations.

“It’s a great honor to serve in this role,” said Ferkovic. “It’s been incredible to watch our team of volunteers work alongside the American Heart Association to drive breakthroughs and implement proven solutions in science, policy and care for healthier people and communities. Creating lasting impact takes all of us — and together, we can build a healthier future for every person in Greater Cleveland.”

Ferkovic has had a highly successful career helping physicians better serve their patients, while also becoming a strong champion for heart and brain health. He began his career as a pharmacist and later transitioned to leading a medical management group, where he implemented systems that enabled physician practices and healthcare providers to work more efficiently and deliver higher-quality, more patient-centered care.

“Tom brings exceptional vision and energy as chair emeritus, Medic Management Group. His commitment to the American Heart Association’s mission, combined with a clear passion for improving the well-being of our community, makes him an outstanding choice to lead this year’s campaign,” Greater Cleveland American Heart Association Heart and Stroke Ball Development Director Stephanie Manning said. “We welcome Tom Ferkovic as chair of the Heart of Cleveland campaign, which unites leaders across our community to advance health and hope for everyone, everywhere.”

The 2026 Cleveland Heart and Stroke Ball will be held on Friday, June 12, at the Hilton Cleveland Downtown. The annual event is a night to celebrate the Heart Association’s year-round efforts to build a healthier Greater Cleveland. Throughout the evening, the Heart Association will honor volunteers and patrons, share survivor stories and entertain guests with dinner, dancing and an auction.
