Media Alert: New England Patriots Foundation to host Hands-Only CPR event at Gillette Stadium with American Heart Association and Tedy’s Team
BOSTON, May 25, 2023 — The New England Patriots Foundation, along with the American Heart Association and Tedy’s Team, welcomes members of the community to Gillette Stadium on Friday, June 2, to learn the lifesaving skill of Hands-Only CPR.
According to the American Heart Association, more than 350,000 people in the U.S. have an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest every year. Nearly three out of four of those cardiac arrests happen at home. Knowing how to perform CPR is critically important. CPR, especially if performed immediately, can double or triple a cardiac arrest victim’s chance of survival.
This free training is scheduled to be attended by New England Patriots alumni, including former linebacker Tedy Bruschi.
WHEN: Friday, June 2, 2023, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (EST)
WHERE: Gillette Stadium, One Patriot Place, Foxborough, MA 02035
Putnam West Club; attendees encouraged to park in lot 22
HOW: Those interested in attending this free event are asked to register in advance for a time slot by visiting: https://tedysteam.org/event/cpr-training-event/. The Hands-Only CPR education will last approximately 30 minutes.
“We are excited to work with Tedy’s Team and the American Heart Association to provide free hands-only CPR training” said Josh Kraft, president of the New England Patriots Foundation. “What Tedy’s Team and the American Heart Association are doing with the New England Patriots Foundation is remarkable. Their shared commitment in ensuring that everyone has the ability to receive free hands-only CPR training will positively impact our communities. Being able to provide emergency care is incredibly important and we are proud to present this opportunity along with these two great organizations.”
“We are proud to be teaming up with the American Heart Association and the Patriots on this important event. We know CPR can save lives, we have seen it happen,” said Tedy Bruschi and his wife, Heidi Bruschi, co-founders of Tedy’s Team. “This event will give us the opportunity to not only connect with community members, but also train them to be lifesavers wherever they are.”
“Our work as the worldwide leader in resuscitation science, education and training, and publishers of the official guidelines for CPR, is critically important,” said Nancy Brown, chief executive officer of the American Heart Association. “Bringing that science to life by knowing how to respond in a cardiac emergency when seconds matter is literally the difference between life and death. We are so proud to stand alongside the New England Patriots and Tedy’s Team to add more lifesavers in the community.”
