LUBBOCK, Texas, Feb. 19, 2024 — As final preparations are being made for the 2024 Lubbock Heart Ball, Natalie Huey, founder and CEO at Signature Stag Menswear has been busy in her role as volunteer chairperson of this year’s community-wide campaign. The Heart Ball celebrates progress made through the dedication and passion of all who support the American Heart Association’s Heart of Lubbock, a year-round effort aimed at investing in and saving and improving lives in Lubbock and the surrounding area.
The campaign will culminate with the Lubbock Heart Ball at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Lubbock Country Club. This year’s theme is Roaring 20s. Throughout the evening the American Heart Association, the world’s leading nonprofit organization focused on heart and brain health, will honor volunteers and patrons, feature stories of survivors, and entertain guests with dinner, dancing and an exciting auction.
“Natalie exemplifies true leadership and commitment and has her finger on the pulse of everything that happens in this community,” said the American Heart Association’s Regional Vice President for Development Michelle Stoddard. She is the ideal person to head our Heart Ball campaign. As a trusted member of this community, she understands the impact the mission and work of the American Heart Association can have on every person who lives in this area.
“We welcome Natalie to the Heart of Lubbock, an initiative that centers around better health for every individual by focusing on critical issues and work to equitably improve and save lives,” said Bridget Hale, development director for Lubbock events and initiatives.
“There was heart failure, heart attacks and heart surgeries on both sides of my family, going way back,” Huey said. “They just didn’t know how to take care of themselves and didn’t know the long-term effects” of some of their health habits, she said of her grandparents and their relatives.
“I am eager to work together with our outstanding team of volunteers and the American Heart Association as we all advocate to make a difference in the well-being of people in this community. Together, we must continue to strive to do whatever we can to fight hypertension, or high blood pressure, and to ensure that at least one person in every household knows CPR.”
The Lubbock Heart Ball is supported locally by Lubbock Heart & Surgical Hospital. For more information on how to support or attend the Lubbock Heart Ball, visit www.heart.org/lubbockheartball or contact Bridget.Hale@heart.org
