NEW ORLEANS, La., December 13, 2022 —The American Heart Association, the leading voluntary health organization focused on heart and brain health for all, invited Greater New Orleans back to its premier event to boost physical and mental health through healthy habits, while supporting the lifesaving mission.
On Saturday, November 19, the New Orleans area Heart Walk participants and teams came together at The Shrine on Airline Hwy. to celebrate heart and stroke survivors, raise lifesaving funds and encourage physical activity. Thanks to local sponsors, community teams and more, approximately $235,000 was raised to support research and programs to build a healthier community. The community still has the opportunity to donate to help the campaign reach its goal of $315,000 through the New Orleans Heart Walk website. The 2022 New Orleans Heart Walk was led by Kyle Sharbonno, vice president of Gootee Construction, Inc.
“The past year has shown us that no matter where we are, we can come together for a common cause,” said Gootee. “The Heart Walk is all about promoting the health and well-being of our community and supporting our lifesaving mission.”
