North Texas leaders unite to kick off 2026 American Heart Association Heart Walk
DALLAS, April 22, 2026 — The 2026 Dallas Heart Walk officially launched on Thursday, March 26, as executives from across North Texas convened for the American Heart Association’s Leadership Breakfast, hosted by Jay deVenny, CEO of Medical City Dallas. The event marked the beginning of this year’s campaign, uniting corporate and community leaders in a shared commitment to advancing health and hope for all.
“Heart Walk is one of the most powerful ways we come together as a community to bring awareness to the importance of heart and brain health,” said deVenny. “At Medical City Healthcare, we are proud to support the American Heart Association and hope that we can inspire organizations across North Texas to join us to make an impact to create healthier tomorrows.”
The Leadership Breakfast provided insight into how companies can engage employees in building healthier workplaces while supporting lifesaving initiatives like CPR education, mental well-being, and prevention of heart disease and stroke. As shared throughout the program, Heart Walk continues to evolve as more than an event—it is a movement to create a Nation of Lifesavers equipped with the confidence and skills to act in cardiac emergencies.
A key highlight of the morning was the recognition of Oncor’s 15th year of supporting the American Heart Association. As part of this milestone, Oncor announced a renewed three-year investment that will help educate more than 15,000 people each year across the state of Texas in the lifesaving skill of Hands-Only CPR. Through the distribution of CPR kits and community-based education efforts, this investment will empower more individuals to respond in emergencies.
In alignment with Oncor’s continued leadership, PIKE Electric, ABB Inc., Burns & McDonnell, and Ricochet Fuel are the first Oncor suppliers to commit to supporting the 2026 Dallas Heart Walk campaign. Their early commitments reflect the growing momentum among Oncor’s business partners who are joining together to amplify impact and drive meaningful change.
The 2026 Dallas Heart Walk will culminate this fall on Saturday, October 17th, bringing together thousands of participants to celebrate survivors, honor loved ones, and raise critical funds for the American Heart Association’s research, education, and advocacy initiatives.
The 2026 Dallas Heart Walk promises to build on this momentum, uniting companies, employees, and families in a shared commitment to creating a healthier North Texas.
