LAS VEGAS, February 23, 2023 — Plans are underway for the 2023 Las Vegas Heart Ball, and Todd P. Sklamberg, chief executive officer of Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center and Sunrise Children’s Hospital, part of the national HCA Healthcare organization, has been named chair of this year’s community-wide campaign. The Heart Ball celebrates progress made through the dedication and passion of all who support the American Heart Association’s Heart of Las Vegas, a year-round effort aimed at investing in, saving, and improving lives in Nevada.
“Todd Sklamberg exemplifies true leadership and commitment as a dedicated healthcare executive here in Las Vegas and is the ideal person to head our Heart Ball campaign. As a trusted member of this community, he understands the impact the mission and work of the American Heart Association can have on every person who lives in this area. We welcome Todd to the Heart of Las Vegas, an initiative that centers around better health for every individual by focusing on critical issues and work to equitably improve and save lives,” says Debbie Smith, executive director of development and community health, American Heart Association, Nevada.
Sklamberg currently serves as a member of the Executive Committee for the Nevada Hospital Association. He is also active with the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce serving as a member of the Government Affairs Committee.
His community involvement also includes committee work with the Regional Transportation Commission including the Transport Resource Advisory Committee, Maryland Parkway Business Coalition, and Patient Protection Commission Advisory Committee. He also serves on the Board for both the Nevada Donor Network and Council for Better Nevada.
“I am honored to serve as Chair of the 2023 Las Vegas Heart Ball,” said Sklamberg. “I am eager to work together with our outstanding team of volunteers and the American Heart Association as we all advocate to make a difference in the well-being of people in this community. Together, we must continue to strive to do whatever we can to make a lasting impact by encouraging the local community to learn the signs of a heart attack and F.A.S.T., which are the signs of stoke.”
The 2023 Las Vegas Heart Ball is sponsored by Sunrise Health System supported by the HCA Healthcare Foundation. Sunrise Health System is the local sponsor of Getting to the Heart of Stroke™. The event is slated for Saturday, April 22, 5:30 p.m. at the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas. The annual celebratory event is a night to honor survivors, patrons and volunteers of the American Heart Association, the world’s leading nonprofit organization focused on heart and brain health. The evening will feature stories from survivors, as well as dinner, dancing and an exciting auction.
