CHICAGO, February 5, 2024 — Warmies, an online retailer that makes and sells soothing, plush and wellness items that can be heated in the microwave or frozen, is proud to support the American Heart Association, the world’s leading nonprofit organization focused on heart and brain health for all, through Life Is Why™, a cause marketing campaign benefitting the American Heart Association. Life Is Why inspires consumers to celebrate their reasons to live healthier, longer lives – by giving.
“As a key part of our business model, Warmies promotes self-care, which is a critical part of health and well-being for all,” said Scott Wehrs, president at Warmies. “We see the American Heart Association’s commitment to promote longer, healthier lives for all as an extension of our own mission which is why we are thrilled to be launching our inaugural Life is Why campaign to raise funds to advance its critical, lifesaving work.”
From Feb. 1 through Feb. 29, 2024, Warmies’ online store will provide shoppers the opportunity to donate in a quick and easy way to support the mission of the American Heart Association. Customers can add $1, $3 or $5 to their purchase during checkout. The Dundee, Illinois-based company began its support of the organization in 2024 and is committed through 2026.
“This year is our Centennial, but it isn’t just a culmination of all that we have done. It’s a celebration of new beginnings,” said Brittany Walsh, executive director at the American Heart Association, Chicago. “Bringing on Warmies as a new supporter of our mission is a great way to invest not just in women’s health but in the health of generations to come. Their products, like stuffed animals, heating pads and house slippers, reach families and individuals of all ages, helping them feel their best throughout their day – a cornerstone of our many health care initiatives. We’re thrilled to have them alongside us as we kick off a new century of driving equitable health in Illinois.”
Donations through the Life is Why campaign – no matter the amount – allow the Association to implement initiatives such as:
- Fund research that can improve the health outcomes of heart and stroke patients;
- Train more than 2.5 million high school students in CPR annually;
- Support the work of local entrepreneurs and organizations working to improve health outcomes in under-resourced communities.
