WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., March 14, 2024 -- The American Heart Association Palm Beach County and Treasure Coast is proud to announce the promotion of 12-year Association veteran, Stacey Comerford to executive director. In her new role, Comerford will oversee all fundraising and external-facing operations of the organization.

Beth Mourelatos, senior vice president at the American Heart Association says, “Stacey is a natural leader, and is well-known and respected by our community partners.” “I know she’ll do an incredible job strategically leading her team during this Centennial year of the American Heart Association and beyond.”

Comerford began work with the Association in 2012 as development director of the Palm Beach Heart Ball. She was promoted to vice president of development in 2021. During her tenure, she has led the development team to record-breaking fundraising milestones.

“It’s an honor to be a part of this team, and to continue the lifesaving work of this organization,” Comerford says. “Heart disease is the No. 1 cause of death in the U.S., and I’m looking forward to finding new ways to connect our passionate donors and sponsors with projects to raise awareness and boost the health of our local community.”

The American Heart Association Palm Beach County serves the residents of Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie counties. Staff members, volunteers and donors assist the organization in leading efforts to reduce the incidences of heart disease and stroke, the first and fifth leading causes of death of Americans.
