DALLAS, October 5, 2024 Collin and surrounding counties in North Texas are getting ready for an unforgettable evening at the annual Heart Fest, hosted by the American Heart Association. The 2024 concert and night of celebration supports the Association’s broader mission to reduce barriers to healthcare access and improve health and hope for everyone, everywhere

The Dallas team of the American Heart Association is proud to recognize this year’s Heart of Collin County Heart Fest chairs, Janet Valentine and her husband Mark Valentine, President of Baylor Scott & White Heart Hospitals. As dedicated volunteers, Janet and Mark have led the charge to raise awareness of heart disease and its impact on the local community. Their passion and continued commitment are on track to make the 2024 Heart Fest an unforgettable evening filled with music, community spirit, and a fun-filled way to support local programs improving heart health, providing education, and funding critical research.

The Valentine’s dedication to promoting cardiac health and community education makes them valuable assets to this year’s Heart Fest. Valentine expressed his commitment, stating, “The American Heart Association and Baylor Scott & White - The Heart Hospitals are committed to advancing treatments through research and education with the goal of eliminating it. Like many Americans, heart disease has affected my immediate family as well. As a result, I remain committed to pushing the boundaries of innovation, striving to deliver hope, healing, and improved patient health.”

Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the United States, affecting millions of families each year, thousands in North Texas, highlighting the urgent need for increased awareness and preventive measures.

The event will occur on Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm at the Omni PGA Frisco Resort, at 4341 PGA Parkway, Frisco, TX 75033.

The evening will feature live performances by the incredible Drake Milligan, a rising country music star known for his soulful voice and charismatic stage presence. His music blends traditional country with a modern twist, making his live shows a one-of-a-kind production filled with an energetic, refreshing sense of entertainment that pulls from the likes of Elvis Presley while maintaining the Western ease of Merle Haggard. Opening the show is the Wyatt Weaver Band from Dripping Springs, Texas, whose music captures the essence of the Lone Star State, with a modern edge, promising an engaging and lively show.

Guests can also take part in both live and silent auctions to support the Association with amazing items up for grabs. Upscale western attire deemed Boots and Bling is encouraged to match the festive spirit of the event.

Working to connect people across North Texas to the resources they need to be healthy and thrive is a major focus and part of the Dallas and Fort Worth area community solutions that the Association’s local team continues to replicate around the metroplex.
