COLCHESTER, Conn., June 25, 2024 — The American Heart Association, the largest voluntary health organization fighting cardiovascular diseases, announces Adam Schwartz and Hy Schwartz, Co-CEO of S&S Worldwide, Inc. are serving as co-chairs of the Eastern Connecticut Heart Walk. The annual Heart Walk will take place at UCONN Avery Point Campus on Sunday, October 6, 2024.
As co-chairs, the Schwartzes will lead organizational and recruitment efforts in Eastern Connecticut. Building on their company’s mission to improve lives and communities, they will call on area volunteers, survivors, and business leaders to step up to support the organization’s efforts to reduce disability and death from cardiovascular disease and stroke.
“S&S Worldwide is committed to helping people live healthier lives,” said co-chair, Adam Schwartz. “By working with the American Heart Association, we are joining together to advance their lifesaving mission of reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease while encouraging a culture of physical activity.”
“Heart disease is personal for our family,” said co-chair Hy Schwartz. “Working together with Adam, we are happy to provide the leadership and resources to create a successful event to benefit the hearts of those in Eastern Connecticut and beyond. We are eager to promote health and wellness and raise funds to support such a critical cause.”
S&S Worldwide has been family owned for over 110 years and is under the fourth-generation leadership of Co-CEOs Adam and Hy Schwartz. Located in Colchester, S&S Worldwide sells arts and crafts and sporting goods products geared toward recreational, health care and educational professionals.
“We are grateful to have two executives in Eastern Connecticut who will help us bring health and wellness to communities by raising funds and awareness in the fight against heart disease,” said Scott Selig, American Heart Association Heart Walk Director. “Together they bring passion for progress and a commitment to our mission, which aligns with our Heart Walk efforts.”
