NEW ORLEANS – May 26, 2026 - New Orleans CityBusiness has named Coretta LaGarde, executive director of the American Heart Association of Greater New Orleans, as a 2026 Most Admired C-Suite Executive. This honor recognizes outstanding leadership among corporate executives across the greater New Orleans business community.
The Most Admired C-Suite Executive Award celebrates CEOs, COOs, CFOs, and other senior leaders who demonstrate exceptional leadership, integrity, vision, company performance and commitment to community engagement. This year’s class includes 50 executives from a wide range of industries who are helping shape the region’s business landscape.
LaGarde’s work is grounded in the belief that it is a privilege to help save the hearts of those we love.
“As a mission-driven leader, my approach is people-centered, impact-oriented and focused on equal opportunity for the health of Greater New Orleans based on real connections. I’m deeply grateful for the work accomplished to strengthen our community of students learning lifesaving Hands-Only CPR, families gaining access to healthier foods, neighborhoods enriched with tools to manage blood pressure, and survivors knowing they are not walking their journeys alone,” stated LaGarde.
“Southeast Louisiana builds resilience, which requires three important leadership qualities: staying rooted in purpose, leading with optimism, and never losing sight of the people we serve. I believe in building community through connection, empowering people with trust and transparency, and making sure that everyone from our students to our corporate partners has a meaningful role to play in advancing health and hope for everyone, everywhere,” LaGarde continued.
CityBusiness features the full group of honorees in its special May 15th issue.
Congratulations to all the 2026 Most Admired C-Suite honorees for their leadership and contributions to the New Orleans business community.
