Palm Beach, Fla., (March 2, 2023) – The American Heart Association, Palm Beach County rolled out the red carpet for its guests at the 68th Annual Palm Beach Heart Ball. More than 450 attendees danced the night away at the “Night in Hollywood”-themed event at The Breakers, chaired by Laurie Silvers, media entrepreneur and co-CEO of Hollywood.com.
The Heart Ball is a fundraiser for the lifesaving scientific research on heart disease and stroke, the Nos. 1 and 5 killers of Americans.
Attendees enjoyed dinner, dancing, a silent auction and an invigorating live auction in the evening’s gorgeous Hollywood-themed setting. Music was performed by “Legends of the Voice” and WPBF’s Nathalie Pozo was the evening’s emcee.
The presenting corporate sponsor is Tampa General Hospital, which is the primary teaching hospital of the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine. Dr. Guilherme Oliveira, vice president and chief of the TGH Vascular Institute, shared remarks with the audience about new innovations in heart surgery. The exclusive media sponsor of the Palm Beach Heart Ball is Palm Beach Illustrated.
A new addition to this year’s event was the “A Ball for All” campaign, which collected more than 100 athletic balls and sports equipment to donate to Marjorie S. Fisher Boys & Girls Club of West Palm Beach. This initiative was created to encourage local kids to start a lifelong habit of physical activity and heart health. “A Ball for All” is sponsored by Tampa General Hospital. At the end of the evening, the chairmen for the 69th anniversary of the Heart Ball and the 100th anniversary of the American Heart Association, were announced. Leading the campaign next year will be Chairman Kathryn Vecellio and co-chairmen Margarita Allinson, Annie Falk, Monika Preston and Julie Rudolph.
