LOUISVILLE, KY, March 24, 2026 — With more than 17 years in the construction industry, LPX Group’s Matt Riggle knows full well the health risks of a very demanding career.

And now with a new volunteer leadership role with the Kentuckiana American Heart Association, Riggle is poised and ready to make a difference.

Riggle, chief administrative officer for LPX Group, will serve as the chair for the 2026 Kentuckiana Hard Hats with Heart campaign. This campaign, which kicked off this past November, is a year-long initiative to create a healthier workforce right here in Kentuckiana.

Riggle began his career with Louisville Paving and Construction as a laboratory technician before he advanced through a variety of operational roles into executive leadership. Now serving as chief administrative officer of LPX Group, he guides strategic planning, operational alignment, risk management and leadership development across its family of companies.

“Being involved in Hard Hats with Heart is important to me because our people are at the center of everything we do” Riggle said. “The construction industry is disproportionately affected by cardiovascular disease, and stories of lost loved ones and team members are far too common. If there is something I can do as a leader to raise awareness, promote prevention, and help change that trajectory, I feel a responsibility to step up. Supporting this initiative is one way to show our teams that their health and well-being truly matter.”

Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the U.S., with construction workers facing an elevated risk due to physically demanding jobs, high stress levels and limited access to health care. Studies show that one in four construction workers has high blood pressure, a key risk factor for heart disease and stroke. Additionally, nearly half of all cardiovascular events occur in people 65 and younger, significantly affecting working-age individuals and their families.

The campaign focuses on integrating health, well-being and prevention solutions into the industry’s culture. Through Hard Hats with Heart, the Association inspires companies to implement initiatives to help employees improve their health such as providing healthy food options, promoting physical activity during breaks, executing stress-reducing programs and educating employees about the signs of heart disease and how to perform Hands-Only CPR.

Riggle is excited to get working on the 2026 campaign.

“I’m most excited about the opportunity to surpass our previous fundraising goals and put those dollars to work right here in our community, where they can make a tangible impact” he said. “I’m also energized by the chance to expand the capabilities and reach of the Executive Leadership Team through this campaign. Most of all, I look forward to continuing to build a larger network of caring leaders who are committed to making a meaningful difference in our industry and beyond.”
