LOS ANGELES, March 16, 2026 — The American Heart Association, devoted to changing the future to a world of healthier lives for all, will honor Ed Romano, retired Vice Chairman of Warner Bros., at this year’s Los Angeles Heart and Stroke Ball. Romano will receive the Second Century Impact Award in recognition of his volunteer leadership and support in advancing the Association’s vision of health and hope for everyone, everywhere.

“Ed represents the very best of volunteer leadership. A leader who steps up and gives even more when it matters most,” said David Sato, MD, Board President, American Heart Association Los Angeles. “Along with dedicating his time and talent, Ed and his family have given generously to help boost the Association’s reach and impact in Greater Los Angeles.”

Romano, who serves as Board Chair for the Association in Los Angeles, has a personal connection to the mission.

“Like many, this cause is close to my heart, having lost both my father and daughter to heart disease,” said Romano. “If supporting the American Heart Association helps save or improve even one life, that’s reward enough and being recognized for work that already means so much to me is truly an honor.”

The Los Angeles Heart and Stroke Ball is a culmination of the year-round Heart of LA campaign that engages companies, community leaders and individuals to make a lasting impact across the American Heart Association’s four chambers of work: Discovery, Advocacy, Access and Knowledge. Funds raised at the event will support the Association’s mission of building a world of healthier lives, including its efforts to advance scientific research.

Sponsored by Providence Saint John’s Health Center, Ed and Murphy Romano, Barry and Wendy Meyer, Morgan Stanley and Warner Bros. Discovery, the Los Angeles Heart and Stroke Ball will be held on March 28, 2026 at The Langham Huntington in Pasadena. The annual event is a celebratory evening of storytelling, dinner and fundraising. For more information, visit heart.org/HeartOfLA.
