TOLEDO, OH, October 22, 2024 - The American Heart Association Toledo Heart Ball will recognize and celebrate the progress community supporters have made to ensure longer, healthier lives for all. Through the year-round Heart of Toledo campaign, critical work is being done in the pursuit of scientific discovery, public policy change, equitable health and knowledge to advance health and hope for everyone everywhere.

“Heart health is the lifeblood of our foundation as human beings. It resides at the center of everything that is good about our physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. A healthy heart allows me to do Zumba, walk my dog, laugh hysterically and love my friends and family from the deepest place in my core – my heart,” said Dr. Valerie Simmons-Walston, 2024 Toledo Heart Ball Chair and Special Advisor to the provost for Community Engagement & Strategic Partnerships at the University of Toledo. “I want others to experience an extraordinary quality of life, so supporting good heart health is the first step in our journey to wellness.”
